Gun Shots!!!!

This is probably my best recording. I was recording on the side of this gravel road and started hearing gun shots. As I was recording the gun shots a whole symphony of birds started to chirp. I heard seagulls and some other kinda of bird which I think is a crane. I could not see any of the birds or were the gunshots were coming from. This is near my house and its really out in the country so it could of been someone trap shooting. At the time I finished recording a horse walked past me towards my car. I was kind of bummed because I missed recording the horse walk by, since its hooves made such a interesting sound. The time was round 6:00 and it was March 17. Listen Here.

Water Dripping

This was a very Interesting sound of water and wind chimes. I was coming off the private property and onto a rocky road. There was this giant puddle that lead into an underground metal tube under the road. What I hadn't noticed at the time of the recording was that I was picking up wind chimes in the distance. The sounds I have sound very metallic because I put the mic as close as I could to the dripping water in the metal tube. Listen Here.

Loner Bird

This was my 3rd sound that I recorded. It wasn't on public property so I was kind of worried about getting caught. I heard this lone bird peeping away and thought it was a very interesting sounding bird so I recorded it. I could not see the bird but I knew it was in a tree by the this old looking shack that was on this trail towards the road. The time was 5:15 PM and it was March 17th. Listen Here.

Waves Hitting Rocks Sound 2

I was walking about 4 more minutes after I recorded my second sound. It was the waves hitting a rock pile. The sound was much more wet sounding than waves just by themselves. The rocks have always been there but I have never noticed the the subtle splashing sounds it was making once waves hit them. The rocks also had spray paint on them from when my friends from high school had painted them. The time was 5:06 and the day was March 17th 2009. Listen Here.

Waves Crashing

This was my first sound. Since I was at the lake I thought it would be good to record some sounds of waves crashing. The waves were pretty small but the sound they made was louder than anything else. I used to go to this beach since I was a little kid and have always loved the lake and the waves. The time was 5:00 pm on March 17th 2009. Listen Here.

Drift 1 Strategy

For my walk I will be drawing a Square on the map and trying to walk the lines of the drawing of the line as well as I can. I want to start at the entrance of a beach and walk towards the lake. I think walking the lines of a square will give me a more wide variety of sounds since I will have to go towards the lake then towards the woods again. My start point then will be on the corner part of the square and the lake will be on the left side of the square. The woods will be on my right side. I'm hoping this will expand my sound variety.
